Construction DOLPHIN 12’ & 16’ The Dolphins are made from epoxy composite construction. It is a simple technique that joins ply sheets 4.5mm wide with soft iron wire stitches. When the sides, transom and floors are stitched together, fillets of thickened epoxy join all constructional parts. They are then glassed together with glass tape and epoxy then coated with textured paint. The bottom of the hull is fibreglassed over for strength and the resulting boat is light weight, strong and extremely durable. Thus it is possible to make traditional shaped boats using modern materials. |

At the time of writing the 12’ Dolphin cost approximately AU$300 and the 16’ Dolphin AU$350. These boats can be built at home in a garage very quickly indeed, typically 35-40 hours for each boat. Simple methods enable the builder to construct this craft with very limited woodworking |
